Falls County U. D. C. Meets
In Regular Session
~~~~~
    The Jno. M. Jolly chapter U. D. C. held a regular meeting Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock in Chapter hall.
    The president called the meeting to order, after which most of the time was given over to convention talk.
    Mrs. E. P. Hutchings and Mrs. J. M. Love, just returned from El Paso,
made the afternoon very interesting indeed with notes of events which transpired during the session of the convention.  This chapter is pleased to announce the re-election of Mrs. Hamil as state president of Texas.  Division U. D. C. Mrs. Hamil is an able woman and in every way qualified for this place of honor.
    It is also pleasing to announce that Mrs. J. M. Love of Marlin will be our third vice president of Texas Division.  Mrs. Love is peculiarly well fitted for this work, and it is gratifying to know that a Marlin woman was chosen for this place.  the place of meeting for the state convention next year had not been announced when the Marlin delegates left for home.  However, it will probably be either Fort Worth or Dallas.
    It is interesting to note that most of the amendments to the U. D. C. state constitution were defeated, which seen fromm the viewpoint of this chapter is just as well.  However, the change in the convention vote was carried and hereafter there will be now proxy vote -- only bona fide delegates will be seated and entitled to a convention vote.  Hence it will behoove local chapters over the State of Texas to send loyal and representatives women as delegates.
    The much talked of U. D. C.  quilt (one of them) will be quilted at the of Mrs. E. P. Hutchings next Friday, and in the afternoon when the work is completed the members of the chapter will draw to see which one secures the quilt.  This promises a lot of fun.  It is recalled that last year the chapter made two quilts, and Mrs. A. Threadgill and Mrs. Jno. Stuart were the ladies who secured the quilts.  Several are wondering who will be fortunate enough to secure the quilt next Friday.
    The meeting adjourned amid more convention talk.
