TAR BOX TALK.

To The Democrat:

Longfellow is quoted as saying "look into thy heart and write," and the editor of The Democrat says "write today," so following their advice, I looked and if I haven't looked too deep, might write a few thoughts from this little corner in Falls county which seems to be taking on a new lease of life since the harvesting season has opened up.  Everybody is busy and, of course, happy.  Health of our community is fine and apparently a feeling of general good humor prevails.

Crops are fine and all of our farmers have cribs full of corn and are storing cotton "knee deep" in the warehouse at Reagan, holding for twenty cents (?) they say, but out boys, twenty cents a pound for yoru cotton means ten cents to patch your breetches.

The farmers union continues to grow; new members every meeting; the good ladies are getting interested and are coming into the union which is a sure sign of success for there is nothing in the world that ever succeeds without a woman in it.

Three cheers for The Democrat, Texas and Tar Box.
