WATTS FAMILY

     I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed all the photos posted on your site, especially those attributed to the R P Watts studio in Lott.  I have a photo of a Murphy ancestor that was taken in that same studio with the same backdrop.

     There was a Watts family closely connected to the Murphy family I research, so I wondered if R P might be one of those.  Sure enough, he came from the same county, Butler, in Alabama.  I don't know if anyone is interested in R P Watts, but I found the following on the LDS 1880 online census at familysearch.org.

I found Rufus P Watts in Greenville, Butler County, Al 1880, pg 312A :

( According to a Worldconnect database, Rufus Paton Watts died in Amarillo, TX in 1934.)

     The Murphys and relatives of Vinson T Watts were neighbors in Butler Springs and intermarried.
