John Lewis Windham, b November 7, 1900 in Madison County, Texas, d September 4, 1984 and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott, Texas-was a son of Joseph Tecumseh and Julia Tump (Lewis) Windham. On March 22, 1920 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas, John Lewis married Lu Etta Bone, b April 26, 1900 near Lott-a daughter of Alfred Greenberry and Ida Rdell (Watkins) Bone, who lived in and around Lott and New Salem in Falls County, Texas.
John came to Falls County with his parents in 1906, living first in the Brazos River Bottom. After the family moved to New Salem, he was elected in 1914 as the Corn Club Delegate to Washingon, D.C., at the age of fourteen years.
After his marriage, John Lewis was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad, and during World War II, he worked in defense plants in McGregor and Orange, Texas. John Lewis and Lu Etta (Bone) Windham had five children:

Alfred Lewis Windham, b January 16, 1921-married Bettie Wood of Chicago, Illinois. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Puerton Rico and Alaska.

Eugene Quince Windham, b September 9, 1924-married Doris Davis-a daughter of Lewis and Evelyn (King) Davis of Falls County. They moved to Dickinson, Texas. Eugene was in the U.S. Navy during World War II-serving in the South Pacific.

Mary Erma Windham, b July 17, 1926-married on January 16, 1946 to Harry John LaGrone, b March 9, 1918 in Killeen, Texas, d September 9, 1974 and buried at Killeen. Harry served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, was captured and a prisoner of war for forty-five months. He was a disabled veteran after the war. Harry and Mary had five children:
mary Elizabeth LaGrone, b February 12, 1947-married Roy Kelley of Killeen;
John Martin LaGrone, b January 20, 1954-married Elayne Lewis of Killeen;
William Edward LaGrone, b September 18, 1956-married Sharon York of Katy, Texas;
Tome David LaGrone, b March 8, 1961; and
Wendy Lu LaGrone, b July 3, 1964-married John Thomas Pridemore, Jr., of Killeen, Texas. Mary Erma (Windham)La Grone continues to reside in Lott, Falls County, Texas, since Harry's death in 1974.

Marshall Ray Windham,b October 28, 1933, married Willie Maude Dyson of Colmesneil.
