WILLIAMS, Joseph Sitten "Junior"

Joseph Sitten Williams (usually called "Junior"), b June 30, 1917-was the only son of three children of James Sitten and Alice Eudora (Plummer) Williams, who moved to Falls County, Texas in 1924, and settled in the Otto Community area. "Junior" was named for his uncle, Joseph Williams, who was leaving for service with the U.S. Navy during World War I, and for his father. He also had a great grandfather, whose name was Joseph Farris.
On August 28, 1937 in Falls County, Texas, "Junior" was married to Winnie Lucille Stone, b March 18, 1921 in Falls County, Texas-a daughter of George Washington and Winnie (Rogers) Stone, of the McClanahan Community of Falls County. They were the parents of two children:
James Ray Williams (called "Jimmy"), b November 4, 1940-is a graduate of Texas A&M University. About 1962, Jimmy was married to Jean Strickland, and they have two daughters:
Lisa Williams, b August 28, 1963;
and Dawn Williams, b November 19, 1964.
Linda Kay Williams, b October 1, 1943-who married about 1965 to Joseph Garner of Navarro County, Texas. They have no children.
On August 12. 1972, Joseph Sitten Williams ("Junior") was married second to Bernice Doskozil, and they have no children of their marriage.
"Junior" has been a farmer and rancher in Falls County, Texas all his adult life. In 1976, he was elected Commissioner of Precinct 2 of Falls County, and is still serving in that capacity in 1986. He had been a member of the Commissioners Court which has returned the county to sound fiscal policies, instead of operating with fiscal deficits.
