James Sitten Williams, b July 3, 1890 in Fayette County, Texas, d December 24, 1943 in Falls county, Texas and buried in Marlin in Calvary Cemetery-was a son of Fred Williams, b June 12, 1850 in London, England, d February 3, 1895 of Pneumonia at West Point, Fayette County, Texas, and his wife, Elizabeth A. (Farris) Williams, b September 3, 1853 in Tennessee, d August 25, 1930 in La Grange, Fayette County, Texas, who was a daughter of Joseph and Julia L. Farris. Fred Williams immigrated to the United States with his parents-probably after the Civil War, and his father was thought to have been a Watchmaker.
James Sitten Williams was given his middle name in honor of a Baptist Minister whom his mother admired, a Reverend Sitten. On November 9, 1913 in Fayette County, Texas, James S. was married to Alice Eudora Plummer, b July 12, 1897, d November 3, 1981-a daughter of Henry and Eudora (Farquahar) Plummer, and a granddaughter of Reuben and Elizabeth (Atkinson) Plummer.
James Sitten and Alice Eudora (Plummer) Williams were the parents of three children and moved to the Otto area of Falls County, Texas in 1924, with them:
Wlizabeth Eudora Williams (called "Beth"), b March 6, 1915 in Fayette County, Texas, d 1986-married November 6, 1936 to Norman Pace, b August 24, 1913 in Kosse, Limestone County, Texas. They had a daughter, Norma Beth Pace, b November 25, 1938, who is not married.
Joseph Sitten Williams (is called "Junior"), b June 30, 1917 in Fayette County, Texas-married August 28, 1937 in Falls County, Texas to Winnie Lucille Stone, b March 18, 1921 in Falls County, and had two children. He married second on August 12, 1972 to Bernice Doskozil, and they had no children.
Mary Edna Williams, b August 12, 1919 in Fayette County, Texas-married July 27, 1936 to James Farney Herriage, b November 4, 1916. They had a son, James Kenneth Herriage, b September 28, 1941, who married first to Carol (maiden name unknown), and had Susan Herriage and Marla Gail Herriage; and married second to Caroline (maiden name unknown), and had no issue.
