Robert Charles Norwood, b February 24, 1894 on the Norwood Farm north of Marlin, and buried in Hillcrest Cemetery--was a son of William Thomas and Agnes (McBryde) Norwood, natives of Falls County.  On February 3, 1916 on the Battle Farm in Falls County, Robert was married to Annie Verrena Vinson, b April 24, 1894 in Falls County, d November 7, 1985 in Marlin and buried in Hillcrest Cemetery--a daughter of William Price and Sarah Belle (Davis) Vinson.

Robert was a Gulf Oil Distributor most of his life, as an employee, and then as a partner of his cousin's widow, Mrs. R. L. Norwood.  He was an avid fisherman and entertainer with fish-fries and bar-be-ques.  The Norwoods were members of the Presbyterian Church of Marlin.

Robert and Annie (Vinson) Norwood were the parents of three children:

Elsie Pauline Norwood (called "Polly"), b January 25, 1920--married Edward Curtis Leach of Galveston, Texas, who was manager of the Jack Tar Hotels and president of American Hotel Association.  They retired in Kerrville, Texas.  They had three children: Margarite Ann Leach, Betsey Kay Leach, and Edward Curtis Leach, Jr.

Lucy Roberta Norwood, b October 6, 1922--married Samuel Joseph Fertitta, b October 14, 1911.  They live in Louisiana, and have four children.

Betty Jane Norwood, b August 9, 1933 in Marlin--married Elmer G. Cohn, b November 11, 1930--a son of Joseph V. and Alma (Williams) Cohn.
