JOHN PATTERSON NORWOOD

     John Patterson Norwood, b December 4,1857 in Falls County, Texas, d March 10, 1917 and buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin, Texas - was a son of John W. and Adaline (Moore) Norwood of Alabama, who came to Falls County, Texas ca 1851.

     About 1879, John P. Norwood married Ida Phipps, b July 30, 1860, d September 8, 1929 and buried in Calvary Cemetery. They were the parents of four children:

     Maude Norwood, b October 2, 1880, d January 27, 1959 - married Thomas Walton ("Pete") Noble, b January 4, 1875.      Robert Lee Norwood, b January 26, 1882, d February 18, 1953 - married ca 1905 to Bettie Jackson Hair, b December 26, 1882.

     Thomas Norwood, b ca 1884, d in Stephenville, Texas - married Alice Barnes - daughter of George W. and Martha (Hunnicutt) Barnes. They moved to Mart, Texas, where he managed a Gulf Oil Wholesale Distributorship.

     John Hughes Norwood, b March 9, 1887, d April 17, 1967 and buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin - married June 11, 1912 to Elizabeth Franklin Hair, b September 22, 1890 in Marlin.
