INSELMANN, FREDERICH
Frederich Inselmann, b December 19, 1842 in Germany October 4, 1914 in Falls County, Texas--married Elizabeth Dietrich, b February 28, 1847 in Germany, d June 29, 1930 in Falls County.
In 1885, the Inselmann family came to Perry, Texas from Williamsburg (now Brooklyn), New York, where he had been a shoe and boot maker during the Civil War. Because the shoe industry was becoming mechanized, Frederich left his state of New York with his family, and settled in Falls County, Texas They lived in the of Theodore Reusse (later "Rice"), when they first arrived. Mrs. Inselmann was ashamed to write her family of their hardships, and the New York relatives thought they had been scalped by Indians in the "wild frontier" known as Texas Frederich (called "Fritz") finally began farming southeast of Riesel, Texas, and before his death he had succeeded sufficiently to be able to buy stock in the Riesel First State Bank.
Frederich and Elisabeth (Dietrich) Inselmann had two children who came to Texas.
Auguste Inselmann, b July 31, 1880 in New York
- married Paul G. Denke; and Adelheid Inselmann, b in October 1866, d May 10, 1932 - married H. G. Walter.
