     William James Hudson, b June 26, 1878 in Alabama, d December 5, 1956 at Houston, Harris County, Texas and buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery in Falls County, Texas - was the eldest child of James Nelson and Martha Jane (Lee) Hudson, natives of Alabama.

     On December 24, 1901, "Jim" was married at Ben Arnold, Milam County, Texas to Edney Elizabeth Reaves, b June 30, 1882 in Montgomery County, Texas, d November 10, 1946 near Rosebud in Falls County, Texas, and buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery - a daughter of John Edward and Bettie Ann (Dawson) Reaves.

     "Jim" and "Lizzie" moved from Ben Arnold to Pleasant Grove in 1910. Where he farmed - raising sweet potatoes, watermelons, peanuts, and hogs. They were members of the Primitive Baptist Church.

     William James and Edney Elizabeth (Reaves) Hudson had nine children:

     Elmer Nelson Hudson, b May 24,1903 in Milam County, Texas - married on December 20, 1925 to Lois Louise Perry.

     Ruby Mae Hudson, b May 14, 1906 in Milam County, Texas - married Isam Joseph Jordan.

     John Reece Hudson, b March 17, 1908 in Milam County, Texas - married first on October 13, 1935 to Nita Mae Ross, who died April 23, 1969; and married second to Evelyn New.

     William Jewel Hudson, b November 19, 1910 in Falls County, Texas, d October 1, 1978 - married August 6, 1931 to Ryllis Allene Huddleston.

     Roy Benjamin Hudson, b August 19, 1913 in Falls County, Texas - married August 13, 1937 to Florine Marie Rothe.

     Robert Lincoln Hudson, b August 30, 1917 in Falls County, Texas, d June 23, 1980 - married Jewel Evelyn Casey.

     James Newton ("Doc") Hudson, b November 6, 1920 in Falls County, Texas - married first on December 3, 1943 to Mary Adline Vanderford, who died January 19, 1979; and married second to Allene Duncan.

     Margaret Elizabeth Hudson, b April 27, 1922 in Falls County, Texas - married May 19, 1944 to Marshall Leon Vanderford.

     Ethel Lucille Hudson, b March 21, 1926 in Falls County, Texas - married August 27, 1948 to Wilford Charles Farber.

     Only three of the children of "Jim" and "Lizzie" Hudson remained in Falls County, rearing their families in or near Rosebud, and these were Ruby, Robert Lincoln, and Roy Benjamin Hudson.
