ROY BENJAMIN HUDSON

SURNAMES: HUDSON, REAVES, ROTHE, KLUMP, HUDDLESTON, BOYD, CARLISLE, GEIGER, BRUEGGEMAN, RENFRO.

     Roy Benjamin Hudson, b August 19, 1913 - a son of William James and Edney Elizabeth (Reaves) Hudson of Alabama and Montgomery County, Texas, respectively, was married on August 13, 1937 to Florine Marie Rothe, b May 24, 1922 at Ben Arnold in Milam County, Texas - a daughter of Herman Henry and Alma Sophie (Klump) Rothe of Milam County.

     Roy farmed at Pleasant Grove for many years, and both he and Florine had been employed at The Rosebud News for over twenty-five years. Roy is a Deacon in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Roy and Florine Hudson have two children:

     Patsy Ruth Hudson, b July 30, 1938 at Rosebud, was married on August 14, 1956 to Galen Huddleston, b July 30,1938 - a son of Guy and Ludell (Boyd) Huddleston, of Pleasant Grove. Galen has a business in Waco, and Patsy teaches in the Rosebud - Lott Independent School District. Galen and Patsy had a son, Darrell Galen Huddleston, b May 2, 1957 - who married August 3, 1979 to Melodie Jean Carlisle; and a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Huddleston, b October 22, 1960 - who married August 21, 1982 to Leonard Geiger.

     Royce Eugene Hudson, b December 30, 1945 - married Linda Carol Brueggeman - a daughter of John and Marie (Renfro) Brueggeman. Royce and Linda live in Rosebud, and he is employed by Alcoa at Rockdale. Linda works at the Jones Grocery in Lott.  They are members of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and they have two children: Timothy Hudson, (b December 2, 1970 in Marlin; and Gerald Hudson, b  February 5,1974 in Marlin.
