CHRISTIAN CHARLES HANSEN

     Christian Charles Hansen, b September 1, 1890 in Falls County, Texas, d July 12, 1964 at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, Texas - and buried in Waco Memorial Park Cemetery, was a son of Christian M. and Maria Christine (Kettelson) Hansen. Christian Charles ("Chris") was married on December 10, 1910 in the Cottonwood Baptist Church in Falls County to Hulda Gummelt, b February 17, 1891 in Falls County, d October 8, 1963 and buried in Waco - a daughter of Peter Gummelt and his second wife, Minna Elizabeth (Eschstruth) Gummelt, natives of Prussia and Germany.

     Christian and Hulda were members of the Cottonwood Baptist Church, where he taught a Sunday School class and she was the organist. Chris was a farmer who reared his family on 57 acres of land; later purchasing 37 additional acres, and then additional farms. He always had a melon patch, and a favorite memory of the children was having lots of good watermelons. Chris and Hulda were the parents of six children:

     Christian William Hansen, b October 10, 1911 in Falls County - married Lydia Marstaller.

     Viola Doracy Hansen, b May 30, 1914 in Falls County - married July 19, 1946 to Clifton Kraemer.

     Ralph Almond Hansen, b September 29, 1917- married May 3, 1950 to Evelyn Dawes (or Davis).

     Arthur Harry Hansen, b April 24, 1919 - served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. His plane was shot down over Italy, and he was declared missing in action in May 1944.

     Charles Leroy Hansen, b February 2, 1924 in Falls County - married June 2, 1944 to Jocelyn Rueter.

     Vernon Alfred Hansen, b October 21, 1928 in Falls County - married Bobbie Bufkin.
