Phillip William
Adams, b August 22, 1864, in Kentucky, d February 23, 1939 at Chilton, Falls
County, Texas, was a son of Jesse L. and Julia (Rogers) Adams of Kentucky. He
married in Falls County, Texas on December 18, 1887 to Rebecca Louisa Myers, b
October 7, 1868 in Anderson County, Texas, d July 30, 1959 at Chilton, Texas, a
daughter of Jarett Myers b September 8, 1824, d April 2, 1874 in the Carolina
Community of Falls County) and his wife Mary (Price) Myers, who moved to
Oklahoma after her husband's death.
After Phillip
William and Rebecca Louisa married, the couple had no money, but got advance
provisions to make a crop. He bought a two dollar cook stove and a stock of
groceries to set up housekeeping. Their first crop was a success, and during the
next thirteen years, they were able to buy land and rear nine of their eleven
children. The children, who attended the Chilton School and became prominent
members of that community, are nearly all buried in the Chilton Cemetery. They

Rama, Alabama, d June 20, 1975 at Chilton, Texas.
Thomas
Jefferson Adams, b November 24, 1890 in Chilton, d March 2, 1974 was married to
Gladys Wilma League, b December 10, 1894, d October 2, 1960 in Chilton, Texas.
Stewart A.
Adams, b April 1, 1893 at Chilton, d January 4, 1972, married first to Mary Jane
Sessions, b August 5, 1894 at Durango, d April 25, 1925 when her daughter,
Billie Joyce (Adams) Robyn now lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Mary Jane (Sessions)
Adams was a daughter of William Washington and Missouri (Liles) Sessions, and a
granddaughter of Thomas B. and Martha (Morgan) Sessions of Alabama, and Ephram
and Charity (Bass) Liles of Alabama. Stewart A. Adams married a secondly to
Myrtle Alice Gray, who graduated from Chilton High School as her class
Valedictorian, b December 11, 1903, d February 2, 1969. Myrtle received her high
school teaching certificate from the College of Industrial Arts at Denton in
1923.
Bess Adams,
b January 28, 1895 at Chilton, d April 28, 1969, was married to Newton Bonard
Morton, b June 13, 1895, d January 20, 1973.
Dewey
Phillip Adams, b June 6, 1898 at Chilton, d February 22, 1967. Was married to
Clyde Ann Farney, b September 14, 1906. After Dewey death, Clyde Ann married a
Mr. Stanley. She is an artist who paints in oils, and has used the signatures,
"C. A. Adams" and "F. Stanley" on her paintings.
Clayborne
William Adams, b September 24, 1900, b February 1982, was married to Wilma
Neeley, b November 11, 1910.
Boyd Adams,
b June 6, 1904, married Freddie Evelyn Blackman, b February 8, 1907.
Floyd B. Adams, b January 12, 1906, married Alma Lois Byrd, b September 27,
1910.
Mamie Adams,
b October 4, 1908, d in September 1979, married Herbert Albert Raching.
Louise Adams
(twin of Mamie), b and d October 4, 1908.
Louise Adams
(the second), b November 5, 1912 d January 8, 1916.
