Pioneers of Ellis County E. M. Brock   E. M. Brock was born in 1815 in Tennessee and married Lucy P. Sims, daughter of John Sims, and sister of Nicholas P. Sims. The family came to Texas in 1850. Their children were: Sarah Ann (m. Jefferson M. Dunaway); Eliza C. (m. George W. Whitefield); Mary (m. Frederick Perkins); Martha J. (twin to Mary, m. James Patterson); John J., William L. and Richard (killed in CW). Brock did much to aid in building churches and schools in the county and served several terms as a County Commissioner, as well as County Judge and Justice of the Peace.
