I recently came across these Turner Family photos. As this is part of my family of Turners, I am interested in contacting the person that posted this information. Alas, my email to Pamela Ellis came back. Do any of you have any contact with Pamela or anyone else associated with the Turner family? Thank you.

 

Marvin Bishop TURNER as a young man. He was the youngest child of Walter M. and Almarinda (BRADSHAW) TURNER, born 12 Sep 1871 in Boz, Ellis County, TX, died 27 May 1950 and buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro, Jack County, TX. Married Dora L. HOWELL 29 Nov 1894 in Boz, Ellis County, TX. They had 11 children including Lee TURNER (born 1896 Ellis County) and Harry Key TURNER (born 1912 Jack County) who were lifetime residents of Waxahachie. Picture was taken ca 1890.

 

Mary P. (Mollie), Texanna, and Jane TURNER. Probably taken late 1800's. Mollie married Joe S. BALES, Texanna married Albert HOLBROOK, and Jane married Henry A. WILDER. They were the daughters of Walter M. TURNER and Almarinda (BRADSHAW) TURNER. They were residents of Ellis County for most of their lives; Mollie and Texanna were born in or near Waxahachie.

  

Romey & Emma (GILMORE) TURNER with four of their children: Ernest, O.P., Lola, and R.O. (later had 6 more). He was son of Walter & Almarinda (BRADSHAW) TURNER of Waxahachie, TX. He is listed as a farmer in 1880 census, born 13 Jan 1854 in Nashville, TN; died 16 Jul 1938 in Waxahachie and buried in Bethel Cemetery. Emma Elizabeth GILMORE was born in Ellis Co., TX in 1859. Ernest William TURNER (born 1879) and Caldonia Irene (INGLE) TURNER. "Willie" was the son of Romeo TURNER and Emma (GILMORE) Turner, and the grandson of Walter & Almarinda TURNER of Ellis Co., TX. Picture taken ca 1900.

  

Harry Key TURNER, son of Marvin & Dora (HOWELL) TURNER, with his new wife, Mildred (BEVERS) TURNER. Harry served in the US Army in England during World War II. Harry & Mildred were married 20 Jan 1938. He was a graduate of Trinity University and an employee of the Coca-Cola bottling company. A well-known local baseball fan, Harry Key TURNER rarely missed a game at Richards Park. He and his wife are buried at the City Cemetery in Waxahachie. Picture taken ca 1944.

  

Marvin Bishop TURNER and Dora L. HOWELL wedding picture. He was the son of Walter M. TURNER & Almarinda BRADSHAW. She was the daughter of English Jesse HOWELL, Jr. and Minerva Ann WEBB. Children: Ernest, Lee, Merwin, Ruby, Faye, E.J, Ludie, Estell, Howard, Harry Key,and Amos. The TURNER family came to Ellis County around 1855 from GA and TN. The HOWELLS settled in Ellis County during the late 1870's moving from Russellville, Pope County, AR. Marvin and Dora married 29 Nov 1894 in Ellis County where they lived until 1907. They moved to Jack County and remained there until their deaths in 1950. They are buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Jacksboro, Jack County, TX.

  

Walter M. TURNER and Almarinda (BRADSHAW) TURNER. He was the son of William B. TURNER and Jane (MARTIN) TURNER of SC. He was a farmer and a stonemason who was a veteran of the Civil War: Confederacy, Payne's Company, 32nd Regiment, LA and TX. She was the daughter of Larkin BRADSHAW and Nancy (PARKER) BRADSHAW of GA and NC. They were married 1849 in GA and moved to Ellis County in 1855. He died 29 Jul 1900; and she died 13 Aug 1908. They are both buried in Bethel Cemetery, Boz, Ellis County, TX. Picture taken ca 1870.

  

Walter M. TURNER, Jr. and his wife, Texanna (STEWART) TURNER and three of their seven children. He was born 20 Dec 1861, the eighth child of Walter M. TURNER and Almarinda BRADSHAW TURNER of Ellis Co., TX. His wife was born in Buenavista, TX. They were married 30 Jan 1887 in Waxahachie. He is buried in Bethel Cemetery, Ellis Co.,TX. Picture taken early 1900's.

  

World War II: Back of picture reads "These boys are cousins. They are from Ellis Co."

This is T House where Trinity University athletes lived during the years Trinity was located in Waxahachie.

Family resided in Ellis County until 1907 when they moved to Jack County. Oldest seven children including Faye who died 1902 (buried Bethel Cemetery) born in Ellis County. Lee and Harry Key TURNER resided in Waxahachie and are buried there.
