This is a photograph of Bro. V. J. Stirman, minister of the Bardwell Church of Christ about 1895. He was born in Kentucky in 1830 and was 65 years old at the time of this photo. His wife Sarah was 20 years younger than him and this was his second marriage and her first. They were married about 1883. The children shown are White, son, age 8; Nellie, dau, age 6; and Ruth, dau, age 4. This photo was originally in the photo collection of my great-grandfather, Stephen R. Seaboalt (1855-1944) who was a member of the Bardwell Church of Christ until a church was built in Rankin about 1934. In 1910, Bro Stirman was living in Garrett, Texas. |
