Rock wagon on Tate Farm, two miles east of Forreston, 1922-1923. The youngster in the wagon is James B. "Bugs" Tate. The wagon was used to hual rock for building the Forreston-Nash Road. |

Threshing time in Forreston, Texas, 1920's. This steam thresher had a boiler that was fired with coal. Thresher shown far right with John L. Taylor of Forreston at controls. The long belt pulled the grain separator to extract the grain. The mule-drawn wagon hauled the straw to the separator. The straw, front left is waiting to be separated. The big stack, left background, has already been separated. The long spout on the left conveys the grain after separation, while the chute on the left conveys the straw to the stack. Left of the thresher is the cook shack. |
