Avalon School - Built 1895

This school was where the old gym now stands.

The first school was a two room school house 1/2 mile north of the community and where this school was built.

2nd Avalon School

Built on same site as the one built in 1895 after the first burned? Not sure of the date it was built. Picture was made in the school year 1919-20 by Mrs. Ina B. Lumpkins, then Miss Ina Bess Harvey, a primary teacher at the school at that time. Mrs Lumpkins left it to the school and it was presented at Homecoming in 1979 by Maurine Baker Venable.

Building on west of the High School

built in 1936.

New High School wing finished only a few years ago.
