Obituary Mrs. Susan Barker Death of an Aged Lady From Research Conducted at the Nicholas P. Sims Library, Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas September 20, 2003 by Debbi Rodgers   Waxahachie Daily Light, Feb. 26, 1904 News was received last night from Midlothian of the death of Mrs. Susan Barker, wife of Rev. Charles H. Barker, which occurred in that city last yesterday evening. Mrs. Barker was aboout 73 years old and had been in feeble health a long time. She and her husband were among the pioneer settlers of Ellis County. Rev. Barker settled the Cauten place near this city and served several terms as district clerk in the early history ofo the county. The Barkers moved to Midlothian many years where they have since resided. They were among the most prominent people of the county and had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.
