Plans for Farmers Alliance Picnic The Dallas Morning News June 16, 1886, page 3   Special to The News. Waxahachie, June 13. The Ellis County Alliance picnic committee met yesterday at the courthouse. Date for the picnic was set for Thursday July 8, instead of the 10th, at Bullard's Park in Waxahachie. Sheriff W. D. Ryburn was chosen marshal of the day. Mayor E. A. Dubose will deliver a welcoming address and introduce the speakers. Orators will be Hon. Olin Wellborn of Dallas and Hon. A. W. Terrell of Austin. Committee to furnish water: .l E. Gaskell, A. P. Harbin and M. L. Alexander. Superintend dinner : W. J. Yarbrough, Simp Wilson and J. W. Busselll. Geo. W. Vaughn will superintend meat barbecue.All those running for state office are invited to be present. This being a county affair, people will attend from every precinct and since it will be before any of the conventions, the day will be doubly interesting for all candidates - both local and state.
