Parsons' Camp Sons of Confederate Veterans Extracted from article published in the Corsicana Daily Sun March 2002 Used with permission   An organizational meeting of the William Henry Parsons Camp No. 415, Sons of Confederate Veterans was held in Ennis, Texas last Saturday.  Howard Green, organizing commander, explained that the organization was named for Colonel Parsons, who commanded the 12th Texas Cavalry and Parson's Brigade. He further stated that cemeteries in Ennis, Rice, Chatfield and Telico [Navarro and Ellis Counties] are full of men who fought with Parsons and returned home to become active and useful members of their communities.   Headquarters for the Camp will be in Ennis and will serve southern Ellis County and northern Navarro County.  The only requirements for membership are an interest in the history of that time and an ancestor who served anywhere in the Confederate army or navy.
