What's New on the Ellis County TXGenWeb website?

15 Jun, 2017

That does it!

The clean up, reorganization and reconstruction of this website is complete. Hundreds of empty files, duplicate files and superceded files have been deleted. Dozens of orphaned files (on website or harddrive, but not linked) were discovered and have been given a new home. Everything but the Photo Gallery was redone. Every page has been redesigned. All of the broken links have been repaired, although you may find links to dead email addresses. Submitter's email accounts are out of our control. Let us know what you think by posting a note in our Mailing List.

Chasing down broken and stray links.
Several links were found in the old "What's New?" page that were never added to the main page. They were: Cemeteries of Texas, History of the Lone Star State - TEXAS, DAR Genealogical Research System, The Texas Centennial, 1836-1936, DRT Library Weblog, Texas Postcards, Headstone Emblems, Texas Gold Star Mothers and Widows, and The Portal to Texas History.
We lost the link to Texas Landmarks. I believe that it was stored on a private server and was lost when the volunteer, who managed the database, died.
I discovered that we didn't have this, so I added a link to The TXGenWeb Project Orphan Counties.
