Lone Cedar   Lone Cedar is on FM Road 55 about 5 miles southeast of Avalon very near the Navarro County line.  It had a post office beginning in 1901 with John Y. Smallwood the first postmaster appointed March 14, 1901.  John M. Young followed him on March 5, 1902. The post office was discontinued on June 15, 1904 and the mail sent to Frost, Navarro County.  As late as 1986-90, the population was reported as eighteen, so there was still a remnant of a community at that time.  You will find Lone Cedar still marked on some county maps.
