Corpus Caller, January 6, 1968 (Page 12C) Mrs. Antonio Perez-SAN DIEGO-Mrs. Antonio E. Perez, 58, died Friday afternoon at an Alice hospital after apparently suffering a heart attack.  She was a native of San Diego.  Her given name was Simona.  The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Chapel here.  Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in the St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church with burial in San Diego Cemetery.

Olivia Perez Rosas - Alice Echo-News - (Mar/24/2006) Rosas  SAN DIEGO, Texas - Olivia Perez Rosas, 81, a lifelong resident of San Diego, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006 in an Alice hospital after a sudden illness.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend to everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her grandson, PFC Richard Homero Rosas, who was killed in action in Iraq on May 25, 2004; and her son, Hilario Rosas on January 3, 2005.  She is survived by her husband Felipe H. "Pipo" Casso of San Diego, Texas; her daughter, Dolores "Lola" Rosas and her granddaughter raised as a daughter, Noralee Rosas, both of San Diego, Texas; two sons, Homero Rosas Jr of Austin, Texas and Gilberto Rosas of St. Louis, Mich.; two sisters, Santos Guerra and Consuelo Garcia, both of Alice, Texas; two brothers, Conrado Perez and Enrique E. Perez, both of San Diego, Texas; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas. Vigil for the Deceased will be observed with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery II in San Diego, Texas.

Corpus Christi Caller, January 14, 1964 Page 10C  San Diego-Tomas Perez, 73, died Sunday night in an Alice hospital after a short illness.  He was a lifetime resident of San Diego and a retired farmer.  Funeral services will be held at the St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church.  He is survived by a brother, Edwardo, of Corpus Christi.

Zaragosa B. Perez Sr.
SAN DIEGO, Texas  Zaragosa B. Perez Sr., 83, died January 8, 2004 in a San Diego nursing home after a long illness. He was a parish member of St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. He was a retired heavy machine operator and his favorite past times were watching baseball and football. He also enjoyed walking. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Anita Benavidez Perez; one daughter, Idalia Perez; one great-grandson, Garrett Everett; four brothers, Enrique Sr., Alfonso Sr., Lorenzo Sr. and Tomas Perez; and by one sister, Vicenta Ibanez.  Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Petra Salinas Perez of San Diego, Texas; three sons, Zaragosa (Irma) Perez Jr. of Arlington, Texas, Daniel (Imelda) Perez of Alice, Texas, and Thomas Perez of San Diego, Texas; two daughters, Idolina (Enrique Jr.) Solis of San Diego, Texas, and Iris (Thomas) Cabrera of Goliad, Texas; one brother, Corando Perez Sr. of San Diego, Texas; three sisters, Olivia Rosas of San Diego, Texas, and Santos Guerra and Consuelo Garcia, both of Alice, Texas; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  A Rosary will be recited Friday, January 9, 2004 at 7 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Corpus Christi Caller, December 24, 1964 Page 12B Miss Leonor Perez-San Diego-Miss Leonor Perez, 77, a life long resident of San Diego, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday in an Alice hospital after a long illness.  She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church of San Diego.  A requiem Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m., Thursday at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church.

Garcia, 68, died Friday morning in a San Antonio hospital been a resident here most of her life.  Funeral services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church.  The Rev. Javier Galdeano, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in the San Diego Cemetery under the direciton of Walker-Mora Funeral Home.  Among her survivors is a brother, Eduardo Perez Jr. of Corpus Christi.

Alice Echo News, Monday, June 1, 2009 Aida Perez Ramos, 60, of San Diego, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at her residence after a sudden illness. She was a graduate of San Diego High School. She was also co-owner and corperation vice-president of Liberty Lodge, Inc. in Alice, Texas and a member of the Altar Rosary Society.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcelino "Lino" Ramos; her parents, Nicanor and Maria G. Perez; one half-sister, Virginia P. Gutierrez; one half-brother, Oscar C. Perez; two brothers Nicanor Rafael and Jose Carlos Perez .  Aida is survived by two sisters, Humbelina (Gabino) Charles of Alice, Texas; Yolanda Perez of San Diego, Texas; one brother, Anastacio Eduardo (Phyllis) Perez of San Antonio, Texas; two nephews that she raised as sons, Richard and Ralph Perez; three step-daughters, Idolina (Robert) Ibanez, Idalia (Herminio) Ibanez; Imelda Ramos; three step-sons, Mariano (Amelia) Ramos, Marcelino (Delia) Ramos Jr. Tony (Carmen) Ramos; numerous step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009 and 9 to 9 on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Corpus Christi Times, Fri., January 6, 1967 SAN DIEGO GI's BODY COMING HOME  The body pfc Spec. 4 Frederico Perez, 20, the 73rd South Texas to die in the war in Vietnam, is being returned here for funeral services.  Perez, a former resident of Corpus Christi, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Isidro Perez of San Diego.  He reportedly was hit by hostile small arms fire while on combat patrol Jan 3.  the Caller erroneously reported today that he was the 82nd South Texan killed in Vietnam.  Surviving are his parents, his maternal grandmother Mrs. Guadalupe M. Reyes his maternal gradfather Fidel Mejia of Bluetown, and four sisters, Mrs. Carmen Massie of El Paso, Mrs. Lydia P. Cantu of Harlingen and Misses Ruth Betty and Noemi Perez, both of San Diego.  Garcia-Rios Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

PEREZ San Diego, TX - Hortensia G. Perez, 88, passed away Friday, March 10, 2000. She was a life long native of San Diego, where she taught for 42 years, now retired. She also served in her early years as the First Female Postmaster of the city of San Diego, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian G. Perez who passed away.  She is survived by one son-in-law, Dr. William L. Davis of McAllen, Texas; two daughters, Elvie Perez Davis of McAllen, Texas and Leola L. Perez of Austin, Texas; two granddaughters, Kimberly Davis of McAllen, Texas and Raquel Pennington of Austin, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Diana P. Gongora and Blanca G. Perez both from San Diego, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews.  A rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 12, 2000 at 7:00 P.M. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of San Diego. Corpus Christi Times, Tuesday, February 13, 1951 AMADO GARCIA-ALICE Funeral services for Amado Garcia, 67, life-long resident of San Diego, will be conducted at the home and San Francisco de Paulo Church at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow.  Burial will be in San Diego Cemetery.  Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight at the Garcia home in San Diego with Father Alvaro Rodriguez officiating.  Garcia died in a Corpus Christi hospital after a brief illness Monday morning.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fulgencia G. Garcia; six sons, Alvino, Rafel, Jesus, Manuel, Pedro, and Amado Garcia, Jr.; and three daughters, Francisca and Josefina Garcia, all of San Diego, and Mrs. Stefena G. Salinas of Ramirez.  Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Walker-Mora Funeral Home of Alice.

Corpus Christi Caller Times, Sunday, May 18, 1969 Jose P. Perez - Zapata -Jose P. Perez 77, died at 8 p.m. Friday at his home here after a short illness. He was born in San Diego and had lived her seven years. He was a farmer and rancher in Duval and Zapata counties. Among survivors are one son, Edmundo Perez, and one brother, Eduardo Perez, both of Corpus Christi. Requiem mass will be celebrated at 3:45 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Zapata. Burial will be in Zapata Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home.

San Diego - Margarita G. Garcia, a retired First State Bank of San Diego bookkeeper, a member of St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church, and the Altar and Rosary Society, died Nov. 20, 2006. She was 82.

Survivors include four sons, Francisco Garcia of Edinburg, Hilario and Mario Garcia, both of Alice, and Roberto Garcia of San Diego; four daughters, Margarita Garcia of Bryan, Teresa Riley of Vidor, Marianna Toudouze of Houston, and Ana Garcia of San Diego; three brothers, Frank and Daniel Garcia Jr., both of San Diego, and Luis Alfonso Garcia of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Teresa Tobin of San Diego, and Leila Canales of Corpus Christi; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Nov. 22 at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial will be in San Diego Cemetery.

Mary L. Vaello Freeman, of Little Rock, AR passed away, October 10, 2004. She was born January 29, 1923, in Benavides, Duval County, Texas, to the late Francisco Vaello Zaragosa and Bertha Tinney Vaello. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Candy, three sisters, Isabel Bozada, Bertha Margaret Vaello and Frances Lee Vaello, and three brothers, William, Frank, and James Vaello. She is survived by a brother, John Vaello; his wife Sylvia, her sister-in-law, Gloria Vaello, her brother-in-law, Manuel Bozada, daughter, Judithann Freeman, her son-in-law Brian Loucks, son, Jay Freeman, her daughter-in-law Bheti, grandchildren, Sue Ellen Fincher, Jay Freeman Fincher, John Fletcher, Fincher Freeman Fowler, Jay Frank Freeman, Jr., Patton Smith and Chase Smith, three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Fincher, Gus and Jack Fowler, and eighteen nieces and nephews. She was a 1941 graduate of Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio, Texas, where she met her husband, Jay Freeman and moved to Little Rock in 1946. In 1952, she took up golf and in 1962 won the title of Arkansas State Golf Champion, at the age of 39. She won eleven Country Club of Little Rock championships. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. The family desires to acknowledge with deep appreciation the kind care and thoughtfulness of the care providers at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

There will be a Rosary service Wednesday evening at 7pm at the Ruebel Funeral Home chapel followed Thursday at 11am with a Mass of Christian Burial at Christ The King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
