Jody W. Young, 42, died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at his home in Spur, TX after a sudden illness. Funeral services for Jody will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wed, April 27th at Zapata Funeral Home Chapel, Spur, TX, with Don Avaritt, Conway, Arkansas officiating. Burial will follow at Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.

Born in Snyder, TX on September 19, 1973 he is the son of Darlene Perkins Young and the late Jackie W. Young. He graduated from Spur High School in 1992. He liked to mechanic and he loved to garden. Building original things that were useful was a challenge to him. He liked to tinker and come up with his own ideas. He could repair just about anything. He dearly loved his children. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Study of God�s work was a priority with him and he wanted to convey the gospel message to anyone that would listen.

Jody is survived by one son, Blayne W. Young of Mill Creek, OK; one daughter, Savannah J. Young of Flomot, TX; his mother, Darlene Perkins Young of Spur, TX; one sister, Jalene Young McBroom and husband, Carl of Snyder TX; one nephew, Rance McBroom of Snyder, TX; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his dad Jackie Young and paternal grandparents, Garner and Tressie Young and maternal grandparents Jack and Lena Perkins.
