Services for Tressie Caroline Young, 81, were at 3 p.m. February 21, 1989 in the Steele Hill Church of Christ with Keith Averitt, Benton, Arkansas, officiating.

Mrs. Young died at her home February 20, at about 6:45 a.m. She was born October 28, 1907 in Estelline. A homemaker, she had been a resident of Dickens County since 1942. She married Garner Young on September 30, 1925 in Kent County. She was a member of the Steel Hill Church of Christ. Two sons preceded her in death, Herbert in 1983 and Patrick in 1967.

Survivors include her husband, Garner Young, Spur; four sons, Lester Young, Big Spring; Wallace Young, Lake Jackson; Ted Young, Snyder and Jackie Young, Spur; one daughter, Bobbie Grantham, Spur; one sister, Estelle Spartz, Las Vegas, Nevada; 17 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Bruce Young, Glenn Young, Wayne Grantham, Clay Young, Dennis Young, and Jody Young. Honorary pallbearers were Allen Young, Scott Young and Kyle Young.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery will Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
