Funeral services for Mrs. D.A. (Dovie) Wilson, age 45, were held Saturday morning, Nov. 6, at the First Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Rev. Lee Vaughn, assisted by Rev. L.L. Hill, conducted the services.Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilson succumbed in a Dallas hospital Wednesday, Nov. 3, following an operation.
She was born in Dixie, Oklahoma, on Dec. 8, 1903, and came to Texas I n1918. She was married to D.A. Wilson in Clarendon, Texas, in 1921, and came to Spur in 1928, where they were active in operation of the Spur Laundry with his brother, Leonard Wilson.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Baptist Church and was active in all church and civic organizations and the Eastern Star.
They left Spur and moved to Abilene and from there to Bentonville, Ark.
Pallbearers were Robert Reynolds, Lewis Lee, Callie Ramsey, Walter Jimison, Martin Pope an Everett Robinson.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband, three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Towles and Oweta Towles, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Art Williams, Hollywood, Calif.; three brothers, Tom and Billie Towles, Los Angeles, and D.C. Towles, Dallas.
