Funeral services for Louis Gilliam Williams, 53, a long time resident of Dickens and Kent Counties, were held last Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the First Methodist Church.

Rev. William McReynolds, Abilene, officiated; assisted by Rev. Howard Marcom. Military rites were held at graveside.

Mr. Williams died November 18 in the Hamlin Hospital. He came to Dickens County in 1947 and lived here until he moved to Girard in 1957. In July of this year he moved back to Spur. He was a member of the VFW, Dickens County Sheriff's Posse and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Williams, Spur; one daughter, Elizabeth Williams, Lubbock; one son, Bill Williams, also of Lubbock; five sisters, Mrs. Alvie Cobb, Midland; Miss Myrtle Williams, and Mrs. Mable Sprurill, both of Tahoka; Mrs. Gladys Ivy, Aspermont and Mrs. Erline Davis, San Angelo.

Five brothers, Miller and Jessie L., Central Point, OR; J.A. and R.A. both of Lubbock; Terrell C., Tahoka and one grandchild.
