Williams Rites Held Friday
Mrs. Chellie Williams, 66, was found dead at her home in Dry Lake community about 4 p.m. last Wednesday. [Mar 19] Death was attributed to a heart attack.Mrs. Williams was born in Des Ark, Arkansas and married in Erath County. She moved to Dickens in 1922. Funeral services were held in the Spur First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Riley Fugitt; pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Spur Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Henry; four sons, Russell, Dillard and Willard Williams, all of Spur; and C.L. Williams of Kermit; one daughter, Mrs. Nowetta Mathis of Lubbock; and two brothers, Wiley Suitt of Granbury and Leanus Suitt of Stephenville; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Marion Jordan, Buddy Hoover, Lloyd Hindman, Cecil Estep, J.B. Karr, and J.B. Morrison, Jr.
