M.C. West died of Injuries received in Run-a-way.
M.C. West, of five miles south of Spur died Monday night at his home, as the result of injuries sustained in a run-a-away. His team hitched to a wagon, ran away Friday evening, throwing him out of the wagon with the result that his leg below the knee was broken, and a fracture of the skull in striking his head in the fall from the wagon. Dr.. Grace was called, set the broken bones of the leg, and otherwise giving all relief possible by medical and surgical skill. However the injury to the head was irreparable, Mr. West remaining unconscious up to the time of his death. The remains were interred Tuesday in the Spur cemetery.Obit submitted by Lillian Grace Nay
