Services for Clarence F. Watters, 91, Stamford and formerly of Spur, were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Lampert, Pastor, officiating. Music was provided by Tom Thompson for the music and Matt Marsh, soloist.
Burial was at 2:30 p.m. in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
Watters died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Stamford Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born in Rising Star and moved to Spur from Brown County in 1926. He moved to Stamford in 1974. He married Beulah Westerman on December 24, 1923, in Cross Plains. He was a retired farmer and rancher and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Bobbie Lou Glenn of Stamford sister, Lola Coleman and Evelyn Watters, both of Marble Falls, Hazel Kubena of Austin; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Beulah Watters, age 91, of Stamford, died Friday in a local hospital. services were Sunday, July 13, at 1:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Stamford with graveside services at 3:30 p.m. in Spur Cemetery, with Rev. Jack Riddlehoover officiating. Burial was under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Watters was born April 18, 1906, in Cross Cut, Texas. She married Clarence Watters December 24, 1923, in Cross Plains, Texas. Mr. Watters preceded her in death February 18, 1987.
Mrs. Watters moved to Stamford in 1974 from Spur. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist church.
Survivors includes one daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Bill Glenn of Stamford, Texas; one sister, Pat Trude of Visalia, CA; four grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
