Funeral services for Leonard Monroe Ward, 81, were held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. David Dyer officiated, assisted by Rev. Jim Palmer, Spade.
Mr. Ward, a retired farmer, died April 18 in the Crosbyton Hospital. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Baptist Church. He had been a resident of Dickens County since 1914.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Una Mae Ward, Spur; a son, Clarence Ward, Silverton; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Burial was in Spur Cemetery.

Graveside services for Una Mae Ward, 93, of Hereford (formerly of Spur) were a at 4 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2000 with the Rev. Tommy Henderson officiating. Burial will be in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.
She died Saturday, October 7, 2000, in Kings Manor Nursing Home in Hereford. She was born March 8, 1907, in Tap, Texas, Dickens County. She married Leonard Monroe Ward September 19, 1922 in Kalgary. He preceded her in death April 18, 1975. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She lived in Dickens County since 1989 moving to Dimmitt. She lived in Dimmitt for two years moving to Hereford.
Two sons preceded her in death, Robert Ward in 1947 and Clarence Ward in 1993.
Survivors include two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
