In Remembrance of

W. F. Walker

W. F. Walker age 82, died Thursday, October 20th at the home of his son, Jim Walker, of Hobbs, NM, following six days illness of pneumonia.

The remains were brought to Spur, his former home, where funeral services were held Friday, October 21st at the Church of Christ. Rev. Mike M. Young, a former pastor and friend of the family, officiating.

Interment was made in the Spur Cemetery in the family burial plot beside the remains of his companion, who preceded him in death sixteen years ago, on the day of his demise.

Campbell Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Born February 4, 1856 in Mississippi. At the age of eight years, he with his parents, came to Texas and located in San Jacinto County, later removing to Madison county and thence to the West August 1, 1903 where he established a home in Dickens County near Spur, and where he and family lived twenty seven years.

Eight years ago he went to Hobbs, NM to make his home with his son Jim Walker and family.

Surviving are four children: Will Walker, Kermit, TX; Jim Walker, Hobbs, NM; Mrs. Burl Harrington, Matador; and Mrs. Myrtle Goodson, Hobbs, NM. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
