Tommie Jo Holloway Walker, 95, died October 26, 2007. She was born in Girard, Kent County, Texas September 10, 1912.

The family moved to a farm in Highway Community, Dickens County, Texas when she was three years old. She attended Espuela School. She married C.L. Walker in 1933. In 1935 they and their baby daughter went to California to farm during the great depression. in the next few years three other daughters were born into the family.

Mrs. Walker is the last of her generation. Her sisters and brothers were Birdie Trammel, Bill Holloway, Charlie Holloway, Bertha Wyatt, Stella Puckett, Zora McDonald, Jim Holloway, John Holloway, and Estha Smith. The oldest in her family was born in 1893 and the youngest in 1921. Their parents were Tom and Mattie Holloway.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughters Venia Jane Fields and Martha Valeria Walker; her grandson Circie Clyde Fields; and sons-in-law Billie Fields and Bud Wray.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughters, Circie Etta Morris and husband Roy of Phoenix, AZ and Jimmie Kay Wray of Ventura, CA; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and dozens of nieces and nephews as well as dear friends.

There will be no services. Mrs. Walker's ashes will be interred in the family plot at Spur Cemetery, Spur, Texas.

Campbell's Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements in Spur, TX.

Arrangements in California are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura, CA.
