Obituary

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. June 18, for Mattie Elizabeth Walker in the Spur Church of Christ.

Charles Adams and Rev. Chester Walters officiated.

Mrs. Walker, a Spur resident, was born December 29, 1889 in Alye, Arkansas and died at 9 a.m. June 17, at Spur Memorial Hospital. the 75 year old housewife was married December 7, 1913 in Corsicana. She came to Dickens County in 1935 and has resided here ever since. Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband, T.W. Walker, Spur; a son, Billy Walker of Brownfield; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Maben, Spur; Mrs. Rogers of Aspermont and Mrs. Elmo Owens of Lubbock, one brother, Van Phillips of Abilene and two sisters, Mrs. L.J. Martin and Mrs. T. Burney of Corsicana.

Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Saturday in Campbell's Funeral Home chapel for Thomas Wheeler Walker, 79. Rev. Howard Marcom, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiated.

Mr. Walker, a retried farmer, died Dec. 5 in the Crosbyton Rest Home. A member of the Methodist Church, he had been a resident of Dickens County since 1935. He had been in the rest home for the past three years.

Survivors include one son, Bill Walker, Seminole; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Maben, Spur and Mrs. Melvin Boase and Mrs. Elmo Owens, both of Abilene; one step brother and two step sisters. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
