Obituary

Santos Vasquez, 83, of Spur died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 in Crosbyton. Services were held Friday, January 19, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Kariakatt officiating. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mr. Vasquez was born Sept. 28, 1923 in Barlett, TX to Otto and Ygnacia Vasquez. He married Margaret Hernandez in 1944 in Georgetown. They moved to Spur in 1956 from Jarrell, TX. He worked for the City of Spur for several years before his retirement, and later worked for Greenthumb on a parttime basis. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Crucillistas.

Santos is survived by his wife Margaret of Spur; six sons, Jessie and Romeo Vasquez both of Spur. Santos Vasquez, Jr. of Houston, TX. Leon Vasquez of Drumright, OK., Ramond and Orlando Vasquez both of McAllen, TX; two daughters, Patricia Gutierrez of Spur and Lupe Hutton of Sa Angelo, TX; one brother, Leon Vasquez of Spur; 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Margaret VasguezMargaret Vasguez 83, of Spur, Texas passed away April 8, 2010 in Crosbyton. She was born July 20, 1926 in Taylor, Texas to Julian and Antonia Hernandez.

Margaret married Santos Vasquez in September 1944 in Georgetown, Texas and became a homemaker. They had eight children.

Margaret is survived by her children; Jesse Vasquez and wife Gloria of Spur, Sam Vasquez and wife Ofelia of Alvin, Tx, Lupe Hutton of San Angelo, Tx, Romeo Vasquez and wife Caroline of Spur, Raymond Vasquez and wife Santos of McAllen, Tx, Leon Vasquez and wife Lori of Oklahoma, Orlando Vasquez of Spur, Tx, and Patricia Gutierrez and husband Luis of Spur. She is also survived by four sisters; Terresa Guerra of Corpus Christi, Tx, Ernestina Rosas of Corpus Christi, Tx, Grace Resendez of San Antonio, Tx and Maria Antonia Cantu of Corpus Christi, Tx; two brothers; Ted Hernandez of Waco, Tx, and Julian Hernandez of Corpus Christi, Tx. and twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and eleven great great-children.

She was preceded in death by her parents Julian and Antonia Hernandez and husband Santos and two sisters Andrea Casarez and Amelia Cordova.

Rosary was held Friday night April 9, 2010 at Campbell Funeral Home Chapel. Services was held Saturday April 10, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Spur, Tx with Father Ernesto Lopez officiating under the directions of Campbell Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur, Texas.
