SPUR David Loyd "Buster" Thomason, 51, died yesterday in Lubbock.Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Highway 70 Church of Christ with Randy Mashburn, minister and the Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Spur Cemetery by Campbell Funeral Home.
Mr. Thomason was born in Levelland. He married Dorothy Boykin in 1949 in Idalou. He was a farmer who lived in Hereford for 25 years before moving to Dickens County in 1975. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a World War II veteran. He was a former president of the Hereford Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of the home; a son, Royce Thomason of the home; a daughter, Annette Cantu of Electra; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thomason of Spur; four brothers, J.W. Thomason and Darrell Thomason, both of Spur; Jerry Thomason of Seal Beach, CA; and Marvin Thomason of Guymon, OK; and four sisters, Winnie Smith of Austin, Geraldine Daughtry of Taylor, Linda Hairgrove of San Bernardino, CA; and Wanda Thomason of Lubbock.

Dorothy D. Thomason, 75, of Waco and longtime former resident of Spur, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, in Waco. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2006, at First United Methodist Church in Spur with Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Burial was in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.Mrs. Thomasan was born November 5, 1930, in Spur to Dick and Grace Allen Boykin. She married David Loyd �Buster� Thomason December 14, 1949, in Idalou. He preceded her in death in 1981. Dorothy was a beautician in Spur for many years. She was very active in the community and church helping with meals on wheels, volunteering at the nursing home and various other activities. She was a member of Spur Church of Christ.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three infants; one son, David Royce Thomason; and one brother, Joe Ray Boykin.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Annette Cantu of Spur; two sisters, Billie Frayer of Waco and Patsy Ann Frye of Thibodaux, LA; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to South Dickens County Senior Citizens Center, 210 Burlington, Spur, TX, 79370.
