Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Spur, for Charles David Sullivan, 24, a lineman for Dickens County Electric Coop.Rev. Norris Taylor officiated, assisted by Sam Houston.
Sullivan was working at the Salt Crossing Gasoline Plant in Kent County when he was electrocuted. The incident took place about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Kent County Judge, Bobby Ted Gallagher.
He had been a resident of Spur all his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Spur Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the Air Force During the Vietnam era.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Clyde Mercer, Silverton; his father, Spencer Sullivan, Lubbock; his wife, Connie Sue Sullivan, Spur; one son, Jason Craig Sullivan, Spur; three half sisters, Susie Stephens, Arlington; Arlene Jordan, Dallas and Gatha Ann Summerlin, Lubbock.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
