Funeral services for Frank Sonnamaker, 86, were held at 5 p.m., August 9, in the First Baptist Church, Spur, with Rev. Norris Taylor, Stinnett, former pastor here, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Sam Simmons.Mr. Sonnamaker died about 5:15 p.m. August 7 in the Crosbyton Hospital. A farmer, he was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the VFW. Born in Coryell County in 1895, he had been a resident of Dickens County since 1927, coming here from Magargell.
Survivors include his wife, Rilla Sonnamaker, Spur; five sons, Rodger and Charles Sonnamaker, both of Spur; Clinton Sonnamaker, Sherman; Gene Sonnamaker, Fort Worth and Don Sonnamaker, Jacksonville, Florida; a brother, Virgil Sonnamaker, Haskell; one sister, Aluce Ivey, Long Beach, California; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Burial was in Spur Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Graveside services for Rilla Anna Sonnamaker, 93, of Spur, were at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 1996, in the Spur Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Norris Taylor, Idalou, and a former Spur pastor, officiated.Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sonnamaker died June 27 in the Crosbyton Nursing Home. She was born August 7, 1902 in Paducah and had lived in Spur since 1928. She married Frank Sonnamaker in Haskell County on May 2, 1920. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1982.
Mrs. Sonnamaker was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nina Earnest in 1952 and a son, Roger Sonnamaker in 1994.
Survivors include four sons, Clinton Sonnamaker, Sherman; Gene Sonnamaker, Haltom City; Don Sonnamaker, Inverness, Florida and Charles Sonnamaker, Spur; ten grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Dickens County EMS or Spur Memorial Cemetery.
