Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church for Mrs. Mary Pearl Smith, 81. Rev. Bill Sanders, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church officiated, assisted by Rev. Norris Taylor, First Baptist pastor.

Mrs. Smith died October 29 in the Crosbyton Hospital. She had been a resident of Dickens County most of her life. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Millard Smith, Spur; one son, Wallace M. Smith, Stephenville; four daughters, Mrs. Angeline Morris, Spur; Mrs. Winnie Butler, Brownwood; Mrs. Louise Bingham, Seminole; and Mrs. Robbie Long, Kirkland, WA; four sisters, Ms. Frank Sonnamaker and Mrs. Edna Fletcher, both of Spur; Mrs. Burnette, Sweetwater; and Mrs. Jack Hargrove, Ft. Worth; grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.
