Obituary

Funeral services were held June 9, at 2 p.m. for Shirley Gregory Smith in the First Baptist Church.

Rev. John Jenkins, Spur, officiated, assisted by Rev. Harmon Bishop of Dickens.

Mrs. Smith, Spur resident, died June 8, at 1:30 in the Crosbyton Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born June 17, 1919, in Throckmorton. She came to Dickens County in 1941 and had been a Spur resident since 1962.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Smith, Spur; a daughter, Jo Ann Childress, Spur; six sisters, Mrs. Erma Starr, Ft. Worth; Mrs. Bertha Scott, Mineral Wells; Mrs. H.C. Kirkland, Mrs. Joe Cook and Mrs. Lena Means, all of Throckmorton and Mrs. John Ballard, Dickens, and one brother John Nichols, Jr. Throckmorton.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
