Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon for Leslie Elbert (Ebb) Smith, 76. Rev. W.D. McReynolds, pastor of First Methodist church officiated. Military services were conducted at graveside.
Mr. Smith died at his home about 9:30 Monday night. Born in Mason County, he came to Dickens County in 1936. He had previously resided in both Kent and Stonewall counties before moving to this county. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the American Legion. He was a veteran of WWI.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dovie Smith, Spur; one daughter, Mrs. Paul Dale Hagins, Spur; one brother, Alvin L. Smith, Jayton; two sisters, Mrs. Iley Grantham, Hamlin, and Mrs. Olah Hillburn, Borger; 2 grandchildren.
Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church for Dovie Smith, 84. Rev. Eddie Allsup officiated.Mrs. Smith died Thursday, January 19, 1984, about 1:45 p.m. in the Kent County Nursing Home. Born in Oswalt, OK, she married Leslie (Ebb) Smith in Jayton on November 23, 1930. He died March 22, 1965. She had made her home in Dickens County since 1936, coming here from Jayton. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Manna Faye Hagins, Spur; two grandchildren, Paula Brownlee and Linda Cranford, both of Spur; and three great grandchildren, all of Spur.
Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
