Allen Paschal Smith Interred Friday With Honors Of Legion

U.S.Flag   Allen Paschal Smith, veteran of the World War, and member of the American Legion, was interred here Friday, Jan. 18, with Legionary honors. He had been in ill health for a number of years and had been treated at veterans hospitals, and his death, which occurred suddenly Wednesday night is though to have been due to a heart attack.

Mr. Smith had been a resident of the Spur section for 4 years, making his home with his brother Val Smith and family, who live six miles north of the city. He moved here from Pampa, where for a number of years he was employed with Phillips Petroleum company.

Services were held at the First Baptist Church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, the pastor Dr. M.F. Eaton officiating. Following the services members of the Legion took charge and conducted the interment rites.

Mr. Smith was born August 11, 1894 at Rockdale in Milam county. Surviving are his brother, Val Smith and wife and two nieces, Lois and Gladys Smith and a host of friends both here and at Pampa.
