Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m., for Mrs. Susie M. Sloan, 78, in the First Baptist Church, Spur, with Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor, officiating.Mrs. Sloan died April 23 in a Haskell hospital. She had been a resident of Spur since 1917 and was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, George Sloan, Spur; one sister, Mrs. Angie Mullins, Haskell, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.

Funeral services for George Sloan, 81, retired cotton gin operator, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Norris Taylor, officiating.Mr. Sloan died about 2:15 a.m. Monday in a Haskell hospital. A member of the Baptist Church, he had lived in Dickens County since 1917. He had been in as Haskell hospital since he fell and broke his hip a few weeks ago.
Survivors include one brother, Jim Sloan, Haskell; three half-sisters, Bula Lott and Eula Reeves both of Kermit and Margaret Reeves, Bloomington; one half-brother, Frank Sloan, Miami, FL.
Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
