Funeral services for Mrs. Velma Lee Simmons, wife of Henry Simmons, were held November 6, at the Church of Christ in Spur. Interment was in the Spur Cemetery.
Reverend Roy Deavers conducted services for the deceased.
Velma Lee was born in Jack county, TX on May 19, 1910 to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sullivan. She was married July 4, 1937 to Mr. Henry Simmons, long time resident of Spur, about two years after moving to this community. She was converted in 1942 at Steel Hill and was a member of the Church of Christ of Spur. She passed away on November 5, 1945.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Simmons and son, Billie Warren; her mother, Mrs. H.A. Finley of Lockney; her brothers: Oscar Sullivan of Plainview and R.C. Sullivan of Alva, OK, her sisters, Dell Fulfer of Clovis, NM and Mrs. E.D. Jackson of Lockney.
Chandler Funeral Home was in charge of the service.

Funeral services for Henry Edward Simmons, 79 were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Spur Church of Christ. Randy Mashburr minister officiated.Mr. Simmons died July 23 in the Spur Care Center. He had lived in Dickens County since 1915. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by a son, Thomas Warren Simmons, Snyder and one brother, Ike Simmons, Spur and 5 grandchildren.
Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
