U.S.Flag   Funeral services were held Friday, December 12 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Campbell's Funeral Home for William Richard (Dick)Shugart. Norris Taylor, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated.

Mr. Shugart, 60, died after a short illness, at his home in Roswell, New Mexico. He came to Dickens County in 1910, but had resided in New Mexico the last 20 years. He was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include two sons, L.C. and Boney, Spur; two brothers, W.P., Spur and E.F., El Paso; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Arrington, Spur; Mrs. Frankie Sargent, Roswell, NM; and Mrs. Monty DeRance, Burnett.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery
