John Harris Shields, eighteen years of age, died Thursday morning at the Spur Poultry Ranche, following a protracted illness of brights disease, his remains being interred in Spur Cemetery.His parents formerly lived in the Quitiqua country on the Plains, leaving home to travel with the boy in the hope of benefiting his condition. They came to Spur several months ago and were employed at the poultry ranche.
