Vada Shackelford, 95 passed away on May 13, 2013. She was born on March 29, 1918 in Jones County Texas to William �Will� and Nora McAda Buske. She married Edward Shackelford on December 24, 1947 in Dallas; she moved to Spur in December 1984 and then 2011 she moved to Kress, Texas where she lived with her sister-in-law Ruth Buske the remainder of her life.

Vada is survived by step-daughter Linda Davidson of Eugene, Oregon; step-son Dennis Birkmeyer of Eugene, Oregon; sister-in-laws; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Vada was preceded in death by her husband Ed Shackelford; her parents Will and Nora Buske; four brothers Travis Buske; Jack Buske; Buddy Buske; and Billy Buske and three sisters Clara Goodwin; Juanita Donahoe; and Ava Corder; and step-daughter Daneen Blankship.

Chapel services will be held on Thursday May 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Zapata Funeral Home in Spur, Texas with Tommy Henderson officiating under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur, Texas.
