Obituary

Funeral services were held December 30 at 2 p.m. in the Church of Christ for Charity Daisy Settle, 84, a resident of Dickens County since 1919.

Gary Williams officiated at the services.

Mrs. Settle died December 27 in St. Mary's Hospital following an illness of four months. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, William T.W. Settle, Spur; two sons, Burle, Spur and Olan Dean, Lubbock; two daughters, Mary Shackelford, Spur and Earnestine Newton, Amarillo; one brother, John Phillips, Jr., Hubert City; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Thomas Wilburn Settle, 94, will be at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, in the Spur Church of Christ with Randy Mashburn minister, officiating.

Mr. Settle a retired farmer, died November 27 in the Crosbyton Hospital. He came to Dickens County in 1918 from Ellis County. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Settle died in 1970.

Survivors include two sons, Burle and Olan Dean, both of Spur; two daughters, May Shackelford, Spur and Earnestine Newton, Amarillo; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Burial in Spur Cemetery.
