Obituary

Mrs. Lenora [sic] Maude Scott, 74, died Monday, Dec. 20. Funeral services have been set for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22.

Mrs. Scott came to the Kalgary community in Crosby county as a bride in Dec. of 1898.

She and her husband, S. B. Scott, were married in Abilene on Dec 23, 1898. She was born on March 19, 1880. At the age of 22 she was converted to the Christian religion and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held in the Spur Church of Christ with Dalton Johnson officiating, assisted by Clyde Drake. Burial will be in the Spur cemetery with Campbell's Funeral Chapel in charge.

Pallbearers will be Joe Long, Bill Nickson, Glenn Smith, Abb Smith, John Dalard, Billy D. Bell, Elmer Cross and R. J. Bell.

Honorary pallbearers will include Bud Morrison, Bill Andrews, Buran Jones, Harry Patton, Ott Denson, Joe Wolfe, Austin Bell, Wright Hinson, Doyle Hinson, Bob Westerman, Erick Swenson, L. R. Barrett, John Crump, Elmer Cross, John King, Jr., I. R. Rogers, Jr., Jeff Smith, J. L. Taylor, Oscar Hart and Charlie Kimmell.

Survivors include her husband, seven children, Ia Mae Taylor of Los Angeles, CA, S. B. Scott, Jr. of Brawley, CA, Sue Winkler of Kalgary, Willie Maudy Barclay of Kalgary, W. C. Scott of Tacoma, WA, Donaleta Robeinson of Cheyenne, WY, Murray Scott Clay of Caliptire, CA; two brothers, Bill and Ed McArthur of Spur; one sister, Mrs. Willie Scott of Spur; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Stephen Bonneyparte (Boney) Scott were held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Spur Church of Christ. He died about 7:30 p.m. November 4th in the Crosbyton Hospital after a brief illness.

Scott was born July 19, 1879 in McClellan County. His family moved to Jones County when he was two years old. He married Leanora Maude McArthur, December 23, 1898, and they settled in the Kalgary community in 1899. Mrs. Scott died December 20, 1954.

Scott owned a meat market and grocery store in Spur for several years and also served as Dickens County Deputy Sheriff several years.

He worked on ranches, tanked, freighted, helped build the railroad into Spur and also worked on the railroad going to Post.

He was one of the oldest settlers at Kalgary and had retired from farming and ranching about 20 years ago.

He is survived by four daughters; Ida Mae Taylor of Los Angeles, CA; Sue Winkler, Kalgary, Willie Maude Barkley, Spur, and Donalita Lane, Little Rock, AR; three sons, S.B., Encinita, CA; W.C., Tacoma, WA; and Murray Scott, Austin. One sister, Etta Brinkley, Anson; one brother, Oley Scott, Lubbock; 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

Loyd Womack and Wayne Grizzle officiated at the services.

Interment in the Spur Cemetery.
